The grid is back online. We suffered a catastrophic data failure, but unlike most grids, we are professionals and had a disaster recovery plan in place just in case that ever happened. All grid data should be restored and That Place should be fully functional once more. If you encounter any errors, missing inventory, etc. please notify a grid admin ASAP.

We’ve discovered a few database errors and some other stuff that needs to be fixed. The grid will be down until further notice, we hope to have service restored ASAP.

The internet connection issues with the primary server have been resolved. While doing diagnostics we discovered one of the hard drives is failing, so we have to take the grid down again in order to install a new drive. All data is backed up to 3 different servers automatically to insure we never lose it but to be on the safe side we are ordering a new drive to replace it before it fails.

Due to the diagnostics being performed on the server housing and connections taking considerably longer than we expected, we are bringing the grid back online. There may be some lag, and we may need to take it offline again once they are ready to move forward with the repair. We will continue to update this thread as we know more.

We have determined the problem is being caused due to the worldwide internet outage last month. When the service that provides internet access to the server did the repairs something was not done correctly. Our technicians are investigating the issue.

The main grid server has gone offline. We are investigating the issue and will post more information as it becomes available.
Around 3:00PM SLT today a construction crew working near the datacenter that our servers are hosted at accidently cut the fiber line that supplies internet to the datacenter. Their fiber team immediately responded to restore connectivity and managed to do so in record time. At this point the grid is back online and everything appears stable. We will continue to monitor the situation, we are being told there may be intermittent downtime as they continue to try to repair the damage but as of this writing (10:00PM SLT) we are online & fully functional.
